This blog is an expressive space where I aim to create, unleash, and unravel my thoughts and urges towards literature. Creativity through literature is important and understanding and creating it aids to learning. Chicanery will primarily be focusing on finding new meanings through texts and ultimately playing around with and repurposing texts of my choosing. Think of it as funky, creative experimentation with words of all kinds.

As you know, I adore your blog! I think my favorite bit about the design is the cover photo. Not only is it beautiful, but also visually stimulating. I think I enjoy it so much because it relates perfectly to the theme of your blog, where you’ll pour out a variety of letters and words concerning YA lit. I also actually like that you’ve kept the design relatively simple, allowing the reader to focus mainly on your content. It feels simple, but well integrated.
I also appreciate both your “about” and your “welcome” posts, they clarified things, mostly, for me. They are well-worded and purposeful—I can tell that you’re invested in this. That being said, they don’t feel 100% clear yet, and I think this is probably only due to the fact that you haven’t been quite sure of the exact form your blog will take (which is okay, we’re all new to this). Once you have figured it out, I think it will be helpful to provide exact details on what it is you’ll be doing—just so the reader can orient themselves in the YA and blog universe. Also, I definitely think it would be helpful if your tag line (your subtitle) had something to do with YA lit—since that is your topic.
I’m also wondering, will there be more on the Outsiders post? I’m loving the photos this far.
Overall, Chicanery is great and I can’t wait to see where it goes!
